When Thodos Dance Chicago made their Auditorium Theatre debut last fall, See Chicago Dance raved that their "eclectic program ... proved that its ensemble of well-trained dancers can do anything that is thrown at them." Now this January, the company the Chicago Sun-Times calls "intriguing" and "impressive" returns to the Auditorium for a world premiere piece celebrating the life of legendary Japanese-American dancer Sono Osato. "Sono's Journey" will trace Osato's path from her audition on the Auditorium Theatre stage that launched her dance career at age 14, to her position today, at the age of 96, as one of the most inspirational artists in American dance. The program also includes a mixed repertoire that features "Near Light" choreographed by Melissa Thodos, "Memoirs" choreographed by Garfield Lemonius and "All You Need Is" choreographed by Taylor Mitchell.
