In 2009, lifelong friends Greg Newton, Sean Paras and Jimmy Shenk began writing and recording songs as Save The Clocktower, named after the plot-pivotal flyer in the original Back to the Future. Since then, these Chi-Town indie-pop darings have been making waves with their "Pheonix-y Shins-y" (Drowned in Sound) melodies and EDM-inspired pop sheen, resulting in a musical style that's "a cross between Yeasayer and the Atlanta Rhythm Section" (WXPN). With high praise and national attention from the likes of NPR's World Cafe and mtvU, these hometown heroes are bringing their latest tunes to local music hotspot The Cubby Bear, along with Armitage and Rex Rayburn.
