She's been dubbed "perhaps the most potent female singer of her generation" by The New Yorker and a singer who "can do almost anything" by the Financial Times. Now multiple Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato -- a powerhouse vocalist who's equally at home on the opera stages of the Met and La Scala or in recital at Lincoln Center and the Hollywood Bowl -- explores the dichotomy of discord and harmony in times of war through her powerful interpretation of Baroque arias. Presented at Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Chicago, In War & Peace: Harmony Through Music showcases DiDonato's interpretation of Baroque vocal masters including Monteverdi, Purcell, Handel, Leo and Jommelli, and features accompaniment by Il Pomo d'Oro.
