Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago’s Wild Side

Located in beautiful Lincoln Park in the shadows of skyscrapers near Downtown Chicago, this family attraction offers incredible wildlife exhibits and naturalistic habitats. The Lincoln Park Zoo is home to animal species from all over the world, from rainforests to savannas, including rare mammals, birds and reptiles.     The zoo is always welcoming new friends from around the world. In recent years new creatures who call the zoo home include the dwarf mongoose, Sichuan takin, red kangaroo and crowned lemur. Check the website for the latest arrivals.

    Where can you eat at the zoo?

    Whether you a looking for a sit down meal or quick snack, there are a number of casual dining spots. During the warmer months, the Patio at Café Brauer is a great place to sit in the sunshine and sip a beer while you enjoy a tasty breakfast, lunch or dinner. Concession stands include Park Place Café, Café at Wild Things, and Eadie Levy's Landmark Café.

    Where can you park?

    There is a zoo lot located at Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive. Parking is free for visits under 30 minutes, and then rates start at $20. City buses also serve the zoo if you don't have a car.
