#InHonor is a series of portraits (photo-based mixed media) created to honor Blackness. More specifically, it speaks to the racial violence and discrimination currently occurring across America, particularly in the form of police brutality. These faces reference validation, representing not only individuals but in a deeper way the face of humanity.

#InHonor addresses the fate of those who eventually meet their untimely end due to racism and police brutality, speaking to the pain of individual and more broadly to the Black experience. #InHonor was created to exist in the public realm. The hashtag in the title is not only a purposeful nod to the viral nature of social media, but also an acknowledgement of the part it has played seeking justice in recent events.
