An acclaimed blues harmonica player, pianist and composer since the mid-'60s, Chicago's own Corky Siegel is the musical innovator behind the Chamber Blues, an innovative ensemble that pulls equally from classical and blues -- with touches of jazz -- to form a unique fusion sound that's been impressing fans and critics since its 1988 inception. With violins, viola, cello and a world-music percussionist, the sextet has recorded a trio of well-received albums and comes to City Winery Chicago for a jam with two-time Grammy-winner Ernie Watts, the legendary tenor sax man who's toured with the Rolling Stones, played with countless pop, rock and R&B stars (Frank Zappa, Carole King, Marvin Gaye) and numerous jazz stalwarts (Thelonious Monk, Charlie Haden, Pat Metheny), not to mention being a member of Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show band for a couple decades.
