Chicago Humanities Festival -- Bob Mankoff: "Life in Cartoons

EducationThe New Yorker might be just as well known for its witty cartoons as for its literary quality. Since 1977, Bob Mankoff has been one of the people responsible for those iconic one-panel jokes, first as a cartoonist and, for more almost 20 years, as the cartoon editor. Mankoff comes to the Chicago Humanities Festival for a lively discussion with fellow cartoonist for The New Yorker Pat Byrnes. They'll be talking about Mankoff's new memoir, How About Never -- Is Never Good For You?: My Life in Cartoons, which is told in Mankoff's favorite medium. Mankoff will shed light on how his background in psychology informs his work and the function that cartoons play in society. Following the discussion at UIC Forum, you'll have a chance to pick up a copy of the book and have it signed by Mankoff.
